The system also provides backup power in the event of an emergency – allowing the school to qualify as a place of refuge. Efficiency gains and backup power benefits ensure significant cost savings for the school as well. “The PureComfort® solution is very reliable, provides clean energy, and operates very efficiently. After suffering a catastrophic loss to our power and cooling plants, we turned to a trusted leader in the industry, UTC Power. The PureComfort® solution is a combination of a double-effect absorption chiller from Carrier Corporation, UTC Power’s sister company, and four 60kW Capstone MicroTurbines®. It is the industry’s first integrated microturbine and double-effect absorption chiller energy solution.
