Optional PLC I/O Modules The PLC in the APS has four slots that can accept optional I/O modules as shown in Figure 8. The first slot contains an additional LAN port used by the APS. This leaves three spare slots available for modules that provide additional discrete and analog input/output connections. Refer to Table 3 for the wiring specifications required to connect the discrete signal wires to the terminal block. Refer to the paragraph 4, APS to Turbine Connections, for required cable lengths. CAUTION: Signal and power wiring must be routed in separate grounded conduits. Route wiring through approved conduit in accordance with local and national codes. Do not run conduit containing signal wiring next to large motors, high current switches, or transformers. Signal wires must be routed though separate conduits based on their respective power levels.
