Capstone Turbine Corporation 21211 Nordhoff Street Chatsworth CA 91311 USA Technical Reference: Dual Mode System Controller (DMSC) Dual Mode System Controller Functionality DMSC provides the external control and isolation functions to take advantage of the MicroTurbine’s Fast Transfer functionality described above. Figure 29 shows a simple one-line diagram of the DMSC with remote disconnect device, utility grid, MicroTurbine, and protected load. The DMSC includes, an undervoltage relay (UVR) that senses the utility grid voltage, and control logic to operate the remote motor-operated disconnect device and send and receive signals from the MicroTurbine. This section presents an overview of the automatic operation between Grid Connect and Stand Alone modes. Note that the MicroTurbine provides 24 VDC power to the DMSC.
