This ensures that the generating facility does not produce more power than the load requires. Depending on the local electric utility, a percentage of the generating facilities capacity can be exported for a defined time. Contact your local electric utility for further information. When referencing the Capstone Protective Relay, forward power is defined as exporting to the utility and reverse power is defined as importing from the utility (See Figure 2).
