Safety Precautions Only Capstone Authorized Serviced Providers (ASP’s) should open the MicroTurbine and other equipment connected to the MicroTurbine. The systems can include multiple sources of power. The fuel used by the MicroTurbine is flammable and explosive. Keep flames, cigarettes, sparks, and electrical arc-producing equipment away from the MicroTurbine. Observe and adhere to the Safety Instructions contained within the MicroTurbine documentation. Summary Improper wiring of external components to the various inputs, power supply terminals, and communication ports inside the MicroTurbine Communications Bay can result in the MicroTurbine not operating properly and/or cause damage to the MicroTurbine components. To eliminate the occurrence of operational problems and/or damage to the MicroTurbine, Capstone requires that all external connections to the Communications Bay be isolated as follows: All Analog, Digital, and Contact Closure Inputs - Connections made to these terminals MUST be Dry Circuit rated and isolated from ground/chassis. They may not be connected in parallel with other MicroTurbine input terminals. All Power Supply Terminals: Connections made to these terminals MUST be isolated from ground/chassis. They may not be connected in parallel with other MicroTurbine input and/or power supply terminals. Refer to the Model C30 Electrical Technical Reference (410000) and Model C60 Electrical Technical Reference (410001) for details on isolating the affected inputs, power supply terminals, and communication ports. Capstone requires that the external wiring to the Communications Bay on existing MicroTurbine systems be checked, and if necessary, modified per the Model C30 Electrical Technical Reference (410000) or Model C60 Electrical Technical Reference (410001), as applicable. 450029-001 Rev A (October 2003) Page 1 of 2 This information is proprietary to Capstone Turbine Corporation.
