Summary A software error has been identified for failure to properly initialize the current limit in the inverter DSP software for Stand Alone, MultiPac operation. There are two possible scenarios where over current and other faults can occur in an operating MultiPac system. 1) When bringing a MultiPac Disabled unit on line with a MultiPac system already in the Load State (producing power to support a load), one or more of the operating systems may experience over current and other faults. The solution is to only operate units that are electrically tied together in the Stand Alone mode of operation when all systems are MultiPac Enabled. Note that this situation does not apply to the Grid Connect mode since the MultiPac is automatically synchronized by the grid system. 2) When a MultiPac Enabled unit fails and Auto Restart allows it to restart and join a MultiPac system operating in the Load State, one or more of the operating systems may experience over current and other faults. The software fix is required to prevent these faults from occurring. A software fix to this problem is in development. For Model 330 systems, version 4.73 software or greater will correct this problem. For the Capstone Model 60 systems, version 3.80 or greater software will correct this problem. If you are experiencing this problem, please contact Capstone Technical Support to find out the status of this software version and to have your system upgraded. Capstone will warrant a software upgrade for Stand Alone systems running in a MultiPac configuration. Payment will be limited to the flat rate schedule for software upgrade.
