Capstone Turbine Corporation • 21211 Nordhoff Street • Chatsworth • CA 91311 • USA Work Instructions: Capstone MicroTurbine Standard Maintenance Ball Bearing Rotary Flow Compressor (BB-RFC) The ball-bearing rotary flow compressor life is affect by inlet gas pressure. At various inlet pressures, the RFC will require replacement at the following intervals: Inlet Pressure Replacement Interval 34 kPA (5 psig) 52 kPA (7.5 psig) 69 kPA (10 psig) 103 kPA (15 psig) 3,000 Hours 5,000 Hours 8,000 Hours 16, 000 Hours Operation at pressures less than 34 kPA (5 psig) inlet pressure is possible, but is not warranted and may further decrease service intervals. The maximum inlet pressure is 103 kPA (15 psig). Battery Maintenance MicroTurbines equipped with the Stand Alone option require maintenance for the battery pack. The battery pack is maintained through software during regular use, however battery packs stored for extended periods will become discharged and require service. Recharge intervals for battery packs in storage with the battery breaker OPEN are dependent upon the ambient storage temperatures. The maximum recharge interval is specified in the table below: NOTE A Foil Bearing Rotary Flow Compressor (FB-RFC) conversion kit is available to upgrade ball bearing to foil bearing RFCs where inlet pressure does not have an impact on compressor life.
