ST PETERSBURG SECTION 7 SUCTION SCRUBBERS MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE This skid utilizes one suction scrubber after the first heat exchanger. In order to perform scrubber maintenance the system must first be shutdown. Bleed any pressure from the scrubber by opening valve VB 331 and VB 351. Once there is no pressure on the scrubber you can begin to perform the require maintenance by following the procedure listed below. 1. Remove the bolts from the flange at the top of the scrubber. 2. Remove the flange from the scrubber being careful not to tear the flange gasket. 3. Take the demister pad retainer bracket out of the scrubber. 4. The demister pad is press fit into the top of the scrubber about 24 inches down. Grab the U shaped handle protruding from the top of the demister pad, and pull the demister pad straight up out the top of the scrubber. 5. The demister pad can be cleaned with a garden hose or compressed air. 6. Place demister pad on top of the suction scrubber, centered in the flange opening. The top of the pad has a smaller weave than the bottom. 7. Align the U shaped handle so it clears the support cross members. push the pad down into the scrubber until it contacts the support cross members. 8. Re-install the demister pad retainer. 9. Re-install the scrubber top flange and bolts. 10. Torque bolts using a criss-cross pattern to the spec below. 1/2” bolt thread size: 9/16” bolt thread size: 5/8” bolt thread size: 70 ft-lbs 100 ft-lbs 135 ft-lbs 11.
