ST PETERSBURG SECTION 4 NAVIGATING THE DISPLAY SCREEN The display screen, located on the control panel door, is the main operator interface for the gas handling system. The display screen alone does not provide all the data necessary for monitoring and trouble shooting the skid, but it is an essential tool that all operators should be familiar with. The display screen energizes when the disconnect to the MCC panel is turned on. The display screen offers a variety of different pages for operator interface. The display area, at the center of the display screen, is where the currently selected page appears. The header and footer bars, located at the top and bottom of the screen, contain the page navigation icons that are used to call new pages to the display area. The header bar also shows the current time and date on the left and right sides respectively. The value contained in these Time and Date indicators will be stamped to any alarm which may occur. So, if they are wrong, the Time Stamp and Date Stamp indicators shown on the New Alarms page and the Alarm History page will also be wrong. Each page contains different combinations of command icons, control icons, selector icons, set point icons, and indicator icons. Each icon may be manipulated by the operator as follows: Command Icons: Each command icon appears as a button shape, square shape, or rectangle shape on the display screen with a label on or above the icon. Touch the icon to issue the associated command. Control Icons: Control icons are rectangular icons used to enable or disable a given function. A label describing the function is located above the icon. An indicator box attached to the bottom side of the icon displays the status of the function.
