Power Meter Connection Diagram Capstone MultiPac Power The Capstone MicroTurbine can operate in parallel to a bus, multiplying output power capacity of comprised units. Each unit actively maintains its relay protection functions. However, dispatching functions can be consolidated in one MicroTurbine unit, master unit, or in an additional device, the Capstone Power Server. The dispatcher unit, Master MicroTurbine or Power Server, communicates data and commands to a higher dispatching and control hierarchy level (SCADA), as well as to the individual MicroTurbine in a group of up to 100 MicroTurbines. It communicates through high speed digital communications, coordinating and dispatching the MicroTurbine demand. A typical PowerServer can control up to 20 MicroTurbines. By using one or more Ethernet repeaters, the total number of MicroTurbines can be increased to 100, working in parallel, operating as a single power generation system. The PowerServer can control MicroTurbines in MultiPac configurations in Grid Connect, Stand Alone, or Dual Modes. Load Following features are also offered with a meter. Refer to the Capstone PowerServer Technical Reference (410024) for details on Load Following and PowerServer Installation. 480001-001 Rev A (April 2003) Page 10 of 11 This information is proprietary to Capstone Turbine Corporation.
