Capstone Turbine Corporation • 21211 Nordhoff Street • Chatsworth • CA 91311 • USA Advanced Power Server (APS): Installation Specification USING THIS DOCUMENT The intent of this document is to provide specific instructions on how to install and interface the Capstone Advanced Power Server for correct operation. This document should be used as an installation guideline after the: a) access areas are implemented, b) APS with APS-CRMS software is available, c) safety measures are in place, and d) necessary drawings are at hand, as required. An Installation Completion Checklist (Table 1) with an initial/signoff column is near the end of this document to record setup and verification of actual installation steps. A signed copy of the checklist should be provided to Capstone Customer Service upon completion of installation. SAFETY INFORMATION Read and understand the Safety Information section of the Capstone MicroTurbineTM User’s Manual (400001 or 400017) before working on the Capstone MicroTurbines, the APS and related equipment. Failure to obey all safety precautions and general instructions may cause personal injury and/or damage to the equipment. Symbols There are three very important symbols used in this document: Warnings, Cautions, and Notes. Warnings and Cautions alert you to situations and procedures that can be dangerous to people and/or cause equipment damage. Notes provide additional information relating to a specific operation or task. Symbols are as follows: A Warning means that personal injury or death is possible. A Caution means that damage to the equipment is possible. A Note is used to clarify instructions or highlight information that might be overlooked. PRODUCT OVERVIEW Introduction The Capstone Advanced Power Server, also referred to as the APS, is used to interface with Capstone C60/C65 MicroTurbine(s) and a Dual Mode Controller (DMC) or other control equipment specified in the installation design to perform Balance of Plant (BOP) supervisory control and monitoring. 480024 Rev A (June 2007) Page 5 of 26 Capstone reserves the right to change or modify, without notice, the design, specifications, and/or contents of this document without incurring any obligation either with respect to equipment previously sold or in the process of construction.
