2009 Internal Fault GEN IGBT ECM Sensed Generator IGBT Failure System Severity Level 6 This fault is declared when the ECM Control Board senses a malfunction of the Generator IGBT module. Recommended Spare Parts • Battery Charger • ECM Power Board Symptom Probable Cause Analysis Repair Solution Generator IGBT Fault Status indicates fault Ground Wiring Refer to the installation documentation for proper grounding configuration. Correct electrical wiring configuration Shorted Generator Cables Check to see if the generator cable is shorted to ground. Fix problem with the generator cable. Harness connected Verify connection from ECM Control Board (J1) to IGBT is secure and not damaged. Repair/replace IGBT Control Harness Battery Voltage too Low (Stand Alone) 1. Check battery voltage. 2. Refer to the Troubleshooting a MicroTurbine that Does Not Wake Up section to measure the battery voltage. Re-charge the battery pack No DC Bus Voltage From Battery Present (Stand Alone) Verify the DC bus voltage is present. Check battery DC bus connections between ECM and BCM. Correct DC bus problems Shorted Generator Inductors Refer to the Troubleshooting a Micro- Turbine that Does Not Wake Up section. Replace Generator Inductors Generator IGBT Shorted Refer to the Troubleshooting a Micro- Turbine that Does Not Wake Up section. Replace ECM IGBT Module Shorted Generator Remove the generator terminals. Measure resistance from each phase to Ground. It should be greater than 5k Ohms. Replace Engine.
