Capstone Technical Support C65 Combustor Liner Inspection

Systems Affected

All Capstone Model C65 MicroTurbine® systems.

Safety Precautions

Only Capstone Authorized Serviced Providers (ASPs) should open the microturbine and other equipment connected to the microturbine. The systems can include multiple sources of power. The fuel used by the microturbine is flammable and explosive. Keep flames, cigarettes, sparks, and electrical arc-producing equipment away from the microturbine. Observe and adhere to the Safety Instructions contained within the microturbine documentation.

Summary

This is a new scheduled maintenance requirement. Refer to the Microturbine Standard Maintenance Schedule (440000) for other scheduled maintenance items.

This service bulletin is intended to notify Authorized Service Providers of required inspection and/or replacement intervals for the Model C65 combustor liner.

The procedures detailed in this Service Bulletin vary according to the Equivalent Operating Hours (EOH) of the combustor. Therefore, you must determine the EOH before proceeding. EOH is calculated by taking the number of operating hours + (3 x number of start/stop cycles).

As an example, the formula below outlines how to determine the EOH for an engine that has run for 10,000 hours and has 200 start/stop cycles:

10,000 + (3 x 200) = 10,600 EOH
