UPS Controller Major Components Discrete I/O – The PLC offers a total of 20 discrete inputs and 16 discrete outputs. Relays are provided to isolate all the discrete outputs. The standard system uses six discrete inputs for external System Wakeup, Start/Stop, Fast Stop, E-Stop, and two Bypass Switch Conditions. Two outputs are provided for external signaling an Orderly Shutdown alarm and Imminent Shutdown alarm. Two other outputs are used internally for waking the MTs and fast shutdown signals. The remaining I/Os are provided for customer-specific requirements.
