Location and Mounting When selecting a location for the Capstone 60, consider: mounting, public access, fuel gas piping, electrical wiring, service access clearances, intake and cooling air supply, exhaust heat and sound emissions. Minimum requirements can be found in this manual. The Capstone 60 is designed for either indoor or outdoor operation. The unit should be placed on a firm and level surface within 2 degrees of grade. The surface should be sufficient to bear the weight and should have sufficient drainage to prevent standing water. Mounting and/or securing the unit is recommended, but not required by Capstone, as the unit produces almost no vibration. However, provisions must be made around the sides (to remove enclosure panels) for service clearance access. More specific requirements for items such as concrete pads, concrete or steel impact protection posts, seismic mountings, and other items may also apply.
