Load Management Modes Load Management Modes provide options for efficient power generation to meet particular customer needs. • CRMS – From the microturbine control panel menu, select Settings > Load Management Settings, and set the slider to Off, Load Following or Time of Use. If Time of Use is selected, navigate to the Time of Use Settings screen. No adjustment is made for the Off (Base Loading) mode. • C30 Display panel: Enter the user password (default is 87712370) and navigate as follows - System Data > System Configuration > Load Management, and select the Load Management mode. • C65 display panel: not available. The Load Management modes are described below: • Off/DISABLE/NOT USED (Base Loading) – Power output setpoint is defined by stored power demand setting. • Load Following Mode – External power meter (import / forward power) to control microturbine power output. • Time of Use Mode – Provides pre-determined settings to select the hours and power demand for microturbine operation. 3.2.1. Base Loading When Off (CRMS) or Disable/Not Used (C30 Display Panel) is selected, the microturbine will generate power up to the value of the stored power demand. This is referred to as Base Loading. The remaining power for the facility will be provided by the electric utility. Figure 1 illustrates the C30 microturbine operating as a base loading system. In the example, the microturbine supplies 30 kW base power and the electric utility grid supplies the rest of the load demand. 410027 Rev G (April 2013) Page 8 of 32 Capstone reserves the right to change or modify, without notice, the design, specifications, and/or contents of this document without incurring any obligation either with respect to equipment previously sold or in the process of construction.
