Capstone Turbine Corporation • 21211 Nordhoff Street • Chatsworth • CA 91311 • USA Technical Reference: Component Descriptions - Model C30 MicroTurbine Rotary Flow Compressor Pump (Foil Bearing) 1. Multistage Compressor 2. Driven by Permanent Magnet Motor 3. Forward speed operation 􏰪 Actsasgascompressoratlowfuelflowrates 􏰪 Actsasflowcontroldeviceathighfuelflowrates 4. Pump life is greatly enhanced using foil bearings Rotary Flow Compressor Controller 1. Same functionality as used on Low Pressure Natural Gas Fuel System (BB-RFC) 2. Solenoid harness connection is not utilized 3. Component has different part number than BB-RFC controller Heat Exchanger 1. The heat exchanger is a heat-dissipation device used on low-pressure systems to reduce the increased fuel gas temperatures generated by the gas compression in the RFC. Pressure Transducer 1. Transducer measures 0 to 100 psig 2. Output scaled linear 0 to 100 mV 3. 5V provided to pins D and C 4. Output signal provided on pins B and A Smart Proportional Valve (SPV25) 1. Power provided from fuel controller 2. Position feedback provided to fuel controller 3. Valve is dithered to prevent sticking during operation 4. Flow curve differs from SPV and GSPV model valves Manifold/Solenoids The fuel manifold contains electrically controlled solenoids to direct fuel flow to the fuel injectors, which proportionally combine air and fuel to enable combustion and power generation. Four solenoids control fuel flow into the injector ports – there are three pilot solenoids and a single premix solenoid. 1. Injector Solenoids 1, 2, and 3 2. Premix Solenoid 3. Solenoid harness provides 13.8V from fuel controller 4. Failed solenoids may result in solenoid faults (5000) 410012-001 Rev B (August 2003) Page 18 of 46 This information is proprietary to Capstone Turbine Corporation.
