Application Notes: Fuel Gas Booster Installation Instructions for the Model 330 Fuel Connections Prepare the fuel system interconnections as follows: CAUTION: It is essential to have an adequate supply of gaseous fuel. The fuel supply MUST BE sized to maintain a minimum of 1.7 kPa gauge (.25 psig) under all operating conditions, including start-up fuel requirements. Failure to have a sufficient supply of fuel will result in low inlet pressure Fuel Gas Booster faults. NOTE: A maximum of three MicroTurbines may be used with a single Fuel Gas Booster. 1. The Fuel Gas Booster inlet and outlets are 1-inch NPT and 3/4-inch NPT female connections, respectively. 2. The High Pressure Fuel Option kit required between the Fuel Gas Booster outlet and the Model 330 inlet have 1/2-inch NPT female connections on either side 3. The Model 330 inlet connection is a –12JIC 37° flared fitting. The Model 330 is equipped with an adapter –12JIC to 3/4-inch NPT female to allow connection to the unit with 3/4-inch pipe. Additionally, a reducer is also supplied (3/4-inch NPT male to 1/2-inch NPT female) to allow the use of 1/2-inch pipe to the Model 330 inlet. WARNING: Always adhere to the fuel safety precautions listed below when performing maintenance operations: 􏰪 Keepflames,cigarettes,pilotlights,andelectricalarc- producing equipment, plus all other sources of ignition well away from areas where natural gas fumes are present 􏰪 Keepallsourcesofignitionawayfromareassharingventilation 􏰪 Keepnaturalgaslinessecure, freeofleaks, andseparatedor shielded from all electrical wiring. 􏰪 Ifyousmellnaturalgas:(1)Immediatelyceaseoperationofthe equipment (2) Close the fuel isolation valve (3) Call a qualified professional and locate and repair the source of the leak 512000-001 Rev B Page 8 of 10 June 2002 This information is confidential and proprietary to Capstone.
