Application Notes: Fuel Gas Booster Installation Instructions for the Model 330 Control Interface Electrical Connections Prepare the control interface electrical connections as follows: WARNING: The software must be configured properly before making any electrical connections. Failure to do this will cause damage to your MicroTurbine. 1. The signal wiring between the Fuel Gas Booster and the Model 330 must be shielded, 20 AWG 2-pair. All of the signal wiring must be enclosed within a 1/2-inch, weatherproof flexible steel conduit. 2. Always ground the electrical cable shield to the chassis on the MicroTurbine side. 3. Voltage suppressors must be installed over the run/start signal lines and on the fault signal lines as shown in Figure 2. a. If a transient voltage suppressor (an MOV or semiconductor) is utilized, it must have a maximum clamping voltage of less than 350 volts @ 100 milliamps. (Microsemi P/N 1.5KE300CA). b. If a RC based contact suppressor is utilized, it should have the following values: 250 VAC and 0.047 uF at 100 Ohms. Contact suppressor EVOX RIFA, Part Number PMR 209MB5470M100 may be used. 4. The switching relays on the UCB board MUST BE configured correctly, or equipment will be damaged (see Software Parameters). 5. Two sets of electrical wires from the Fuel Gas Booster must be connected to the UCB on the MicroTurbine system. a. The Fuel Gas Booster Start Switch electrical leadwires must be connected as shown in Figure 2. b. The Fuel Gas Booster Fault Status electrical leadwires must be connected as shown in Figure 2. 512000-001 Rev B Page 5 of 10 June 2002 This information is confidential and proprietary to Capstone.
