Capstone Turbine Corporation  21211 Nordhoff Street  Chatsworth  CA 91311  USA Technical Reference: C200 Hazardous Location Fire Suppression System 4.2. Fire Suppression Components (Safe Room) 4.2.1. FSS Controller Figure 10. FSS Controller The Fire Suppression System (FSS) Controller provides the control and monitoring interface for the Fire Suppression System (see Figure 10). The FSS Controller consists of an enclosure with door, Printed Circuit Board (PCB), User Interface panel, power supply and secondary standby batteries. The user interface panel is mounted on the PCB and is visible through a cutout in the enclosure door when the door is closed. The FSS Controller is installed in a control or safe room, which must be a non-hazardous location. Refer to the Electrical P&ID located in Table 1 for more information on the electrical integration of the FSS Controller. The PCB in the FSS Controller is microprocessor controlled and is connected to components of the Fire Suppression System as follows (reference the FSS Electrical P&ID in Table 1):  The Detector 1 terminals (TB1) are connected to the heat detectors and pressure activated switch. The heat detectors are installed in the C200 hazardous location enclosure, and the pressure activated switch is installed on the 1⁄2-inch main release line of the CO2 discharge system.  The PCB has three Notification Appliance Circuit (NAC) terminal blocks, one of which is used for this system. NAC1 (TB19) is connected to the multi-tone horn/strobe that is located in a non-hazardous area (see Section 4.2.3).  The Manual Release terminals (TB4) are connected to the manual pull station, which is installed in a non-hazardous area, in the vicinity of the FSS Controller (see Section 4.2.2).  The Release 1 terminals (TB14) are connected to the electrically actuated control head on the main release tank (see Section 4.1.3). 410089 Rev A (February 2013) Page 16 of 54 Capstone reserves the right to change or modify, without notice, the design, specifications, and/or contents of this document without incurring any obligation either with respect to equipment previously sold or in the process of construction.
