Capstone Turbine Corporation • 21211 Nordhoff Street • Chatsworth • CA 91311 • USA Application Guide: C200 Hazardous Location Turbine Assembly UCB Terminal Block Connections See Figure 18 for the UCB connections, which include the UCB interface board, battery contactors and hazardous location relays (K1 and K2). Signal connections on the interface board, which is at the front of the enclosure, are routed to terminal block TB6-NH located in the engine section of the enclosure. Refer to the C200 Technical Reference (410066) for details about the UCB interface board. The requirements for connecting external wiring to the terminal block are as follows: • Use the shortest wiring route whenever possible. • Wires must be 18 AWG (0.823 mm2) individually shielded twisted pairs with maximum length of 500 feet (152.4 m). • Route the wiring through an approved conduit or cable tray in accordance with local and national codes. Do not run conduit containing signal wiring next to large motors, high current switches, or transformers. Signal wires must be routed though separate conduits based on their respective power levels. • Battery Contactor Coil: TB6-NH terminals 1 and 2 are connected to 24 VDC output terminals on the hazardous location controller. This connection supplies power to relay K1, battery contactors, and indicator lights. • Wakeup Signal: TB6-NH terminals 7 and 8 are connected to isolated dry contact output terminals on the hazardous location controller for the battery wakeup signal. • Controller Energized: TB6-NH terminals 9 and 10 are connected to discrete input terminals on the hazardous location controller. The controller input terminals are powered by 24 VDC at the controller. • Fault Input 1: TB6-NH terminals 14 and 15 are connected to isolated dry contact output terminals on the hazardous location controller. • Enclosure Pressure Transducer: TB6-NH terminals 16 and 17 are connected to analog I/O terminals on the hazardous location controller. • Redundant Fan Status: TB6-NH terminals 19 and 20 for this pressure transducer are connected to analog I/O terminals on the hazardous location controller. • Filter Pressure Transducer: TB6-NH terminals 22 and 23 for this pressure transducer are connected to analog I/O terminals on the hazardous location controller. 480047 Rev.
