Office Building Citibank La Jolla, California At this Citibank building in the coastal city of La Jolla just north of San Diego, exhaust from a single Capstone microturbine heats water both for heating and cooling offices. The cooling side of the equation is accomplished by routing Capstone-heated water to a pair of hot water-driven absorption chillers that produce nearly 20 tons of air conditioning. Right around the corner, a four-story Collins Asset Management Group office building uses exhaust from two Capstone C60s to direct-fire a 40-ton absorption chiller. Both facilities count on the automatic dual- mode capability of their Capstone turbines to serve critical loads in the event of a blackout.
