Capstone Turbine Corporation • 21211 Nordhoff Street • Chatsworth • CA 91311 • USA Technical Reference: Advanced Power Server (APS) Before using an APS to operate a MultiPac, CRMS-APS must be used to make sure the turbines are correctly assigned to their appropriate groups. However, it is not used to organize turbine modules in a C1000 series package into groups. A C1000 series controller, as purchased, has pre-defined groups that were set up during manufacturing so that the turbine modules will function as a single unit. 6.7.2.1 Adding Turbines to a Group See Figure 44. To add a turbine to a group, first select the desired group in the Configuration window list. After the group is selected, an active field becomes available at the bottom of the Configuration window. Click this field and select Add Turbine from the drop-down list. You will then be prompted to enter the number of the turbine you wish to add to the group. The number that you enter must be a number that is already assigned and connected to the APS. The turbines are required to be directly configured with a distinct turbine number prior to being connected to an APS. You must also select the turbine type. For an APS-controlled MultiPac, the turbine type options are C60/C65 and C200. Adding a C1000 series turbine to a group is a different process, and is described below. CAUTION: All turbines must be physically connected to an APS with the proper communication wiring prior to configuring them in software and must never be physically disconnected when the APS is turned on. Figure 44. Adding a Turbine to a Group 6.7.2.2 Adding a C1000 Series Turbine to a Group If the MultiPac includes a C1000 series turbine, an additional process is necessary to add the C1000 to a group. The first step is to assign a unique ID to the IP address of the C1000 to be added, as described in Configuring the APS/C1000 Series Controller IP Address on page 49. Only after this is done will the C1000 be available for selection in the drop-down list, as shown in Figure 45. To add the C1000 to a group, instead of selecting Add Turbine, select the unique ID of the C1000 from the drop-down list. 410079 Rev.
