Capstone Turbine Corporation • 21211 Nordhoff Street • Chatsworth • CA 91311 • USA Technical Reference: Advanced Power Server (APS) 4.4.1.4 Connecting C600/C800/C1000 and C200 Turbines See Figure 21 and connect the RS-485 and battery wakeup wires between the APS and C600/C800/C1000 turbines as follows: 1. If a C600/C800/C1000 turbine is the first unit connected to an APS, connect the battery wakeup wires from TB1-51 on the APS to TB1-54 on the C1000 series controller and from TB1-52 on the APS to TB1-55 on the C1000 series controller. 2. To continue the RS-485 and battery wakeup signals from one C1000 series controller to another C1000 series controller, connect the wires of the 526949-100 (100 ft) cable between each C1000 series controller as shown in Figure 21. Refer to the terminal connections in Table 5. 3. To continue the RS-485 and battery wakeup signals from a C600/C800/C1000 turbine to a C200, first remove the connector (P15 or P16) from one end of the 509929 cable. Next, see Figure 21 and connect the cable between the C1000 series controller and UCB as follows: a. At the C1000 series controller, connect the cable wires to the terminal connections listed in the “From Controller” column of Table 5. b. Plug the cable connector into the Inter-B connector J8 on the C65/C200 UCB. 4. Refer to the C1000 Series Technical Reference (410072), and remove or install jumpers on terminal block TB1 in the C1000 series controller as follows: a. At the first C600/C800/C1000 (TB1 pins 44, 45, 46, and 47 not connected; pins 48, 49, 50, and 51 connected) ensure the three jumpers on TB1 pins 14/15, pins 25/26, and pins 27/28, are installed. Remove the three jumpers on TB1 pins 29/30, pins 40/41, and pins 42/43. b. At a C600/C800/C1000 connected to two other turbines (TB1 pins 44, 45, 46, and 47 connected; pins 48, 49, 50, and 51 connected) remove all six jumpers. c. At the final C600/C800/C1000 (TB1 pins 44, 45, 46, and 47 connected; pins 48, 49, 50, and 51 not connected) ensure the three jumpers on TB1 pins 29/30, pins 40/41, and pins 42/43, are installed. Remove the three jumpers on TB1 pins 14/15, pins 25/26, and pins 27/28. 5. To continue the RS-485 and battery wakeup signals from a C200 turbine to a C600/C800/C1000, first remove the connector (P15 or P16) from one end of the cable 509929. Next, see Figure 21 and connect the cable between the UCB and C1000 series controller as follows: a. Plug the cable connector into the Inter-A connector J6 on the /C200 UCB. b. At the C1000 series controller connect the cable wires to the terminal connections listed in the “To Controller” column of Table 5. 410079 Rev.
