MultiPac 509929 Cable Wiring End-of-line signal terminators MUST be present on the initial and final connection for RS-485 cable connections. If terminations are not present, electrical ringing may be present, and the signal can be severely degraded or interrupted. On a C65/C200 turbine, Inter-B connector J8 provides the RS-485 link with the previous turbine and Inter-A connector J6 provides the RS-485 link with the next turbine in line. In an APS controlled MultiPac, Inter-B connector J8 is typically connected to another turbine or to the APS, and therefore only Inter-A connector J6 on the final C65/C200 is terminated. For the C600/C800/C1000 in an APS-controlled MultiPac, both the initial and final turbines are terminated. C1000 series controller pins TB1-44, TB1-45, and TB1-46 are used for RS-485 communication with the previous turbine, and pins TB1-48, TB1-49, and TB1-50 provide the RS-485 link with the next turbine in line. Any RS-485 communication pins that are not connected to another turbine must be terminated using jumpers. If both sets of RS-485 pins are connected to other turbines, all of the jumpers are removed. 410079 Rev.
